The NFF has long held the view that all Australians have a right to access reliable broadband. The NFF understands the reform package will guarantee access to data networks for all premises through the Statutory Infrastructure Provider (SIP). This is important as, while the mandate of the National Broadband Network was to deliver broadband to all Australians, there has previously not been a statutory requirement to do so. In effect, this package will legally ensure all Australians will have access to broadband infrastructure.
