Animal Medicines Australia bolsters NFF ranks

The National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) has today announced that Animal Medicines Australia (AMA) has joined the peak national agricultural body as an Associate Member.
NFF Chief Executive, Matt Linnegar, said AMA’s addition to the NFF helps reinforce vital links between the animal health industry and farmers, at a national level.
“The NFF exists to provide a single, strong voice for Australian agriculture—championing the issues affecting farmers, and dedicated to unlocking the potential of agriculture,” said Mr Linnegar.
“Today, we are pleased to see AMA join our 27 members, further bolstering the broader agricultural supply-chain representation of the NFF.
“AMA’s contributions will be valuable in strengthening our policy positioning on core farm issues, such as regulation of agricultural and veterinary chemicals and animal welfare,” Mr Linnegar said.
As the voice representing the animal health industry in Australia, AMA represents registrants, manufacturers and formulators of animal health products. The association’s member companies represent in excess of 85 per cent of all animal health product sales in Australia.
“Joining the NFF is an important strategic move for the AMA,” said Duncan Bremner, AMA Chief Executive Officer.
“Through membership of the NFF, the animal health industry is formalising a whole-of-industry approach. With an increasing emphasis on sustainable agriculture, we’re working with farmers to ensure animal health opportunities are explored in an informed and efficient way.
“By contributing to policy debate and development through the NFF’s policy working groups we can ensure that Australian agriculture is being provided with the most informed input from the animal health sector,” Mr Bremner said.
