The Regional, Rural and Remote Communications Coalition (RRRCC) has congratulated the Minister for Regional Communications, Senator Fiona Nash, for her proactive approach to ensuring nbn Sky Muster users are not faced with unreasonable extra costs from retailers when data limit increases come into effect on 1 October 2017.
Following a meeting with data retailers, Minister Nash today confirmed that any
costs associated with delivering the increase would be minimal.
“When the data limit increase was announced we were delighted,” National Farmers’ Federation Chief Executive Tony Mahar said.
“But, in welcoming the news, as a Coalition, we did challenge retailers not to increase the cost of plans.”
“It’s pleasing that our concerns have been taken on board and Minister Nash should be congratulated for her efforts to protect consumers.”
“When the Coalition was formed we agreed that 2017 must be the year to address telecommunication in the bush.
“This is a huge step forward, but there is still much to do to achieve #betterbushcomms and to end the #datadrought,” Mr Mahar said.
