National Farmers' Federation

Statement: NFF welcomes instant asset write off extension pledge

Comments attributable to NFF President David Jochinke:

“The National Farmers’ Federation welcomes Labor’s commitment to extend the $20,000 instant asset write off by 12 months, if elected on May 3.

“But we continue to call for more changes to the highly effective measure.

“We’d like the $20,000 asset threshold cap to be raised to $150,000 for small businesses.

“This would help farmers reduce costs and increase their productivity.

“The NFF would also like to see a longer-term commitment made to this initiative, beyond the 12-month extension Labor has floated: we would like the instant asset write off to be made a permanent feature of our tax system.”
