The NFF Horticulture Council is proud to welcome today industry leaders, innovators and growers to the Gatton AgTech Showcase 2025, the final stop of the inaugural National Horticulture Roadshow.
Delivered in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, the Roadshow has travelled across the country, spotlighting excellence in horticultural thinking, practice and technology. Gatton provides a fitting finale, celebrating the ingenuity, resilience and ambition that define Australia’s horticulture sector.
“Technology and innovation are central to the future of Australian horticulture,” said Jolyon Burnett, Chair of the NFF Horticulture Council.
“From precision growing systems and data-driven supply chains to robotics and advanced genetics, agtech is transforming how we grow, pack and deliver fresh produce.”
The Gatton AgTech Showcase will feature live demonstrations, expert panels and interactive exhibits, highlighting how agtech is empowering growers to lift productivity, improve sustainability, and build competitive businesses.
It will also include the opening of the new Queensland Centre for Protected Cropping in Mild Winter Climates, a new Cravo* structure with the flexibility to optimise growing conditions and productivity.
“With an increased focus on being more efficient with inputs and a need to control climate, the Queensland Centre for Protected Cropping in Mild Winter Climates will be essential for industry to see and understand the advantages of investing in this type of facility,” Mr Burnett said.
“This event, and the National Horticulture Roadshow, are about more than technology – they’re about people.
“It’s a chance to share knowledge, inspire the next generation, and shape a horticulture industry that is profitable, sustainable and connected for the future.”
The Gatton AgTech Showcase is delivered by the Queensland Department of Primary Industries and runs Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 October at the Gatton Smart Farm, 107 John Howie Memorial Drive, Lawes, with attendees from across the country expected to participate. * A Cravo structure is a retractable roof greenhouse or cooling house designed to protect crops from weather while optimising growing conditions by combining natural outdoor benefits with controlled indoor environments. Its structure typically features a motorised, retractable roof that can close in minutes to shield plants from rain, hail, strong winds, or excessive sun. The systems can be customised with different roof coverings, such as insect nets or blackout materials, to meet
