Farm Business
Agriculture is a powerhouse of the Australian economy. Farmers produce about $60 billion worth of goods each year.
Our farmers are the backbone of regional Australia. The agriculture supply chain supports 1.6 million jobs. More than 99% of Australia’s agricultural businesses are wholly Australian owned, the majority are family owned and operated. Everyday farmers fortunes are influenced by factors outside their control – the climate, global market prices and input costs.
They depend on smart policies that promote their growth not constrain it. The NFF advocates for fair and sensible approaches to regulations that most impact farmers bottom lines including tax; access to capital; transport and infrastructure; competition policy and drought.
