The NFF’s 4 April 2007 submission to the Prime Ministerial Task Group on Emissions Trading, supports a national trading scheme that recognises agriculture has already reduced Australian greenhouse emissions and proposes that farmers should not be direct participants in a national scheme.

The NFF’s 23 March 2007 submission to the Australian Fair Pay Commission, argues a further wage increase is not justified so soon after the Commission’s original decision commenced on 1 December 2006, and that any further wage decisions be deferred for one year for agriculture on account of the 2006-07 drought.
