We note the record fine handed down this week by the Victorian Labour Hire Licencing Authority.
The NFF has been a long-term supporter of strict labour hire licencing. The farm sector has no room for dodgy operators who don’t play by the rules, and effective labour hire licencing regimes are critical to help us weed out those players.
We won’t comment on the specifics of this week’s case, which may still be subject to appeals, or the parties involved. However, it is good to see the Victorian regulator proactively upholding the law and pursuing wrongdoing.
We continue to call for the implementation of a national labour hire licencing scheme so dodgy operators have nowhere to hide.
