The NFF believes that Minor Use Permits play an invaluable role in addressing market failures and ensuring Australian farmers have access to safe and effective agricultural chemicals and veterinary medicines. This is especially important given Australia constitutes a small share of the global agvet chemical market. The APVMA must engage with industry and ensure the ongoing registration and renewal of Minor Use Permits without undue data or cost burdens, so that farmers – especially in smaller crop sectors – do not lose access to crucial agvet chemicals.
