Gene technology has had significant positive impacts in Australian agriculture, including in cotton and grains, and has strong potential to address significant challenges in the future. The NFF supports reforms to modernise Australia’s regulations and adopt a more appropriate risk-based system, which could reduce regulatory burden and help increase adoption of innovative new technologies.
