The NFF membership retains serious concerns over the project’s potential risks and impacts on water quality and agriculture’s capability to produce safe, nutritious food and fibre for domestic and international consumption. The scientific understanding behind associated risks is complex and has attached significant uncertainty. As such, based on a precautionary principle approach, we remain ironclad in our opposition against this proposed project and maintain a firm view that the Senate Inquiry recommend against greenlighting this proposal of significant consequence.
