The National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) welcomes the opportunity to provide a submission to the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Regional Development, Infrastructure and Transport (the Committee) on the inquiry into the implications of severe weather events on the national regional, rural,
and remote road network.
Australian agriculture is heavily dependent on freight and logistics. Everything produced on an Australian farm will be transported on an Australian road before it reaches its final consumer. Farmers require safe, efficient, and competitive road infrastructure to get their products to consumers and maintain viable
businesses.
