The NFF’s 4 November 2013 submission to the Department of the Environment Repeal of the Carbon Tax Exposure Draft Legislation and Consultation Paper outlines the NFF’s support for the repeal of the Carbon Tax given concerns on the effects the tax would have on farm businesses and particularly the agricultural processing sector. In its submission, the NFF understand the repeal of the carbon tax will also include the repeal of the conservation tillage tax offset and suggests that it may be appropriate to continue this program using other mechanisms. In addition, the NFF seeks further clarification of the status and funding for the Land Sector programs and on future investment in RD&E for agriculture for innovative and cost-effective mitigation and adaption measures.
