Applications have today opened for the National Farmers’ Federation’s (NFF) flagship Diversity in Agriculture Leadership Program.
Women with leadership ambitions are being urged to apply for the mentorship-based initiative, now in its ninth year.
NFF Interim Chief Executive, Su McCluskey, said the program offers lucrative connections and opportunities.
“The Diversity in Agriculture Leadership Program has enabled dozens of incredible women to take their place in the C-suite, boardroom, or leadership team,” Ms McCluskey said.
“I encourage women to tap into the spirit of International Women’s Day (8 March) to dream big, back themselves, and submit their application.
“I urge everyone who shares the NFF dream of doubling the number of women in agriculture’s leadership ranks by 2030 to apply for this life-changing opportunity.”
Ms McCluskey also thanked the 25 partners who’ve supported the NFF’s vision, and in turn, backed the next generation of female leaders.
“These businesses are leading by example and are making a huge difference in our economy,” Ms McCluskey said.
“They’re addressing the gender pay gap, promoting women to leadership roles, and making sure there are female voices on panels.”
Vivienne McCollum is a recent graduate of the Diversity in Agriculture Leadership Program and praised its teachings.
“This program has given me the space and support to transition to a portfolio career with a clear idea of how I can now take on leadership roles that have clear purpose and impact,” she said.
“I am excited about the future and feel way more confident to pursue the many opportunities that are out there for Australian agriculture!”
The Diversity in Agriculture Leadership Program provides 12 women an intensive learning opportunity over five months.
The 2026 cohort will take part in a three-day leadership retreat in Canberra, be matched with an industry-leading mentor, and work towards personal and professional goals under the guidance of the NFF team.
Applications are open until April 6, 2026.
