Primary Employers Tasmania join the NFF

The National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) has today announced that Primary Employers Tasmania (PET) has joined the national peak farm body as an Associate Member.
Primary Employers Tasmania represents the interests of employers in Tasmania’s agricultural, horticultural and viticultural industries at all levels of government.
NFF President Brent Finlay says the addition to the NFF family was welcomed, given the need to attract people into agriculture and build a stronger workforce.
“Today, the NFF is pleased to welcome Primary Employers Tasmania into the NFF family – bolstering the national voice for farmers and, more broadly, Australian agriculture,” Mr Finlay said.
“PET will join 29 member organisations at the NFF’s decision-making table. Their involvement will ensure the policies and concerns of rural industry employers are recognised by industry, government and the wider community on a national level.
“We look forward to working with PET on a number of key policy areas, most notably in workplace relations, looking at the improvement of training programs, skills and workforce development and policies to attract and retain workers to the agricultural sector,” Mr Finlay said.
