Work for agriculture's peak farm body

Australia’s peak national farm lobbying and advocacy body, the NFF, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Manager, Economics and Trade. The NFF represents farmers and, more broadly, agricultural interests across the full spectrum of Australian farm activity.
Based in Canberra and reporting to the CEO and Chairs of the NFF Economics, Trade and Carbon Taskforce Committees, the Manager, Economics and Trade works closely with the NFF’s senior executive team, including the President, Vice President, Board, Members Council and other NFF Managers.
A key portfolio within the NFF, this senior role is multi-faceted and has key responsibilities in economics, including general economic analysis and policy advice on interest rates, inflation, exchange rates, the Federal Budget, taxation, fuel policy, competition policy and issues and carbon mitigation.
This role also has responsibility for NFF trade policy and trade reform, including managing the agriculture sector’s engagement within multilateral, regional and bilateral trade negotiations and the NFF’s international farm group engagement.
The successful candidate will have experience in policy analysis, development and stakeholder consultation at a senior level, as well as well developed networks in Government and agricultural stakeholder organisations. Negotiation skills and previous experience in lobbying would be an advantage. To be successful in this role, you will be a strategic thinker, an excellent communicator and a proven advocate.
