The NFF commends the government on their commitment to reforming the national system of agvet chemical regulation, and mainly support the proposals set out in the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals Legislation Amendment Regulations 2018. Australian farmers need a system of chemical regulation and registration that facilitates the introduction of new chemicals onto the Australian market in a timely and cost-efficient manner, without compromising the health and safety of people, animals and crops, the environment and trade.
