The Digital Tech Hub is an important initiative that will help to deliver on Goal 4: Digital capacity building for regional, rural and remote Australia, and the RRRCC welcomed the government’s 2019-20 Budget commitment to establish the Hub. The RRRCC believes that Australian society and the economy stand to gain from having regional, rural and remote areas digitally connected, and that to realise these benefits consumers and businesses need independent, trustworthy technical support to get connected and stay connected. A well-designed and appropriately resourced Digital Tech Hub is an important mechanism by which government can help realise the benefits of a digitally connected regional Australia.
